Product Description

Bordeaux has over 10,000 producers who make around 70 million cases of wine every vintage. However, not every vintage produces rich, ripe wines of character. 2010 was one of the better vintages in recent years. In such vintages, consumers can confidently seek out lesser Chateau in the minor appellations.

Chateau Pilet’s estate covers 65 hectares in the town of Donzac in the ‘Entre Deux Mers’ region, on hillsides overlooking the right bank of the river Garonne.

The 2010 Chateau Pilet is composed of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc from thirty year old vines.
Aromas of ripe fruit and spicy notes follow through on the palate. Plenty of rich, black fruits are nicely balanced with a toasty, spicy finish and silky tannins.

This wine has lots of personality and is one of the best Bordeaux’s under $20 I have tasted in a long time.

Pairing: Ideal with steak, rich casseroles or sharp cheese.
